What is S.W.R. (Secondary Water Resistance)? |
It's an additional roof protection system if your roof fails. |
What is Deck Reinforcement? |
Most likely, your existing roof decking is only secured by nails. InsulStar® Plus adheres the plywood decking directly to the trusses, making it 3 times stronger than code requires. |
Does InsulStar® Plus meet the requirements of local building codes? |
Yes, (Florida Product Approval #9975). |
Does InsulStar® Plus raise roof temperature? |
Not significantly. Roof temperature is mostly affected by the color and the direction it is oriented. |
If I have a roof leak, will it rot my roof decking? |
No. InsulStar® Plus is a Secondary Water Barrier and should prevent roof leaks. |
How will I know if I have a roof leak? |
With most roof structures, leaks first show up as a staining in the soffit and fascia areas. |
What is the difference between foam adhesive and foam insulation? |
Foam adhesive attaches the roof to the trusses and keeps water out. InsulStar® Plus Foam Adhesive also provides insulation. |
Why is one A/C vent cold and others are not? |
A/C ducts run through the attic, which can be 145-160 degrees in the summer. InsulStar® Plus lowers your attic to only 10 degrees above outside air temperature, preventing the air in the ducts from gaining temperature from the attic. |
Will InsulStar® Plus protect from tornadoes? |
While wind and pressure patterns from tornadoes are different from hurricanes, 90% of all tornadoes are less than 150mph. |
What about hail damage? |
Because it provides Secondary Water Resistance, it can prevent water intrusion even if the roof covering is damaged. |
